24 East Washington’s security staff is on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In addition, the security staff uses video surveillance and direct inspection methods to monitor the lobbies, freight elevator, and loading dock, as well as controlling after-hours access to the building.
24 East Washington is equipped with new state-of-the-art life safety systems to protect the tenants and the property. The tenant areas of the building are fully sprinkled and comply with all City of Chicago high-rise safety ordinances. The emergency systems that protect the building are monitored by building security personnel in addition to around the clock fire alarm system monitoring.
Fire drills and safety training will occur at least once a year, and all tenants will be asked to participate. A tenant safety team that includes Fire Wardens, Assistant Fire Wardens, Searchers, Stairwell Monitors, and Elevator Monitors must be chosen by each tenant for each suite or floor that is occupied.
Tenant fire extinguishers must be tested annually to be in compliance with the City of Chicago Fire Code. Building Management will offer the opportunity for tenants to complete their annual inspection and tagging for a discounted fee if completed at the same time as the building receives its service.
